During his visit to Scotland, President Donald Trump has so far struck a trade deal with the European Union, helped negotiate a cease-fire between Thailand and Cambodia, met British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, and warned Vladimir Putin that his patience is running out over the war in Ukraine. The Commander-in-Chief has played at least two rounds of golf on his Turnberry course in southeast Scotland.
But there has also long been suspicions that he may not be a golfer who always adheres to the game’s strict rules. Footage from a game this weekend appeared to show one of Trump’s caddies cheating on his behalf.
Commentators suggested that the caddy was seen moving a ball near the edge of a bunker on Sunday at Turnberry golf course. Trump then gets out of a golf buggy, moving towards the ball, presumably to take a swing at the planted ball.
The Viral Footage
The latest video, reportedly captured at one of Trump’s Scottish resorts, shows what appears to be a caddie discreetly tossing a golf ball into a more favorable position as Trump exits his golf cart. Moments later, Trump is seen taking a swing as if the ball had landed there naturally. The footage has already racked up millions of views, sparking widespread debate about whether this was a harmless golf “drop” or a deliberate act to gain an unfair advantage.
Online reactions have been explosive, with hashtags like #TrumpGolfGate and #CommanderInCheat trending across multiple platforms. While critics have ridiculed Trump for lacking sportsmanship, supporters argue that the clip may not show the full context of the situation.
