Big Boost for the Chiefs: Jawaan Taylor Returns to Practice After PUP List Stint

Kansas City, MO — The Kansas City Chiefs got a major boost this week as veteran offensive lineman Jawaan Taylor made his long-awaited return to the practice field after being sidelined on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.

Taylor’s return couldn’t have come at a better time for the Chiefs, who are working to solidify their offensive line ahead of the new season. The 26-year-old tackle had been dealing with a lingering lower-body issue that kept him out of early training camp sessions, raising concerns about depth and protection for superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

After joining the Chiefs in 2023 with a massive four-year deal worth $80 million, Taylor quickly became a key part of Kansas City’s offensive front. His strength, speed, and pass-blocking ability were crucial in helping the Chiefs continue their dominance in the AFC.

Head Coach Andy Reid expressed excitement at having Taylor back, saying, “It’s great to see Jawaan back out there. He’s worked hard with our medical staff, and we’re confident he’s trending in the right direction.”

Fans at camp were thrilled to see No. 74 back in action, and insiders report that Taylor looked sharp in drills, showing no signs of discomfort. His return immediately bolsters the team’s line chemistry and adds experience to a young and evolving unit.

The Chiefs are aiming to defend their Super Bowl crown this season, and having a fully healthy Jawaan Taylor back in the trenches is a major step toward that goal.
