Sidney Crosby was chosen as the first pick by fellow Nova Scotian Nathan MacKinnon in the All-Star Game draft, which has made a comeback for this year’s event hosted at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena. MacKinnon, along with co-captain Cale Makar and celebrity captain, singer Tate McRae, will lead the team.

Not surprisingly, Sidney Crosby was MacKinnon’s top choice, given their well-known friendship and offseason hangouts. The remaining members of Team MacKinnon/McRae include:

Alexandar Georgiev
– Kirill Kaprizov
– Sebastian Aho
– Tom Wilson
– Jeremy Swayman
– Travis Konecny
– Elias Lindholm
– Oliver Bjorkstrand

While Crosby will skip the skills competition this season, he is set to play in the game. Currently making the most of his time off, Crosby has been in Montana and was recently seen continuing his training at a picturesque outdoor rink in Big Sky.

The skills competition, scheduled to be broadcast on ESPN, will not feature Crosby, who is currently in the mountains. However, he plans to join MacKinnon and the other all-stars in time for the game itself, which will be aired on ABC tomorrow at 3 p.m.
