According to the recent update on the American Hockey League transactions page, the Nashville Predators have brought up Spencer Stastney from the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals for the second time this season.

As part of the roster adjustment, defenseman Dante Fabbro is expected to be sidelined for 2-3 weeks due to an upper-body injury. Fabbro sustained the injury during the first period and was unable to continue playing in Nashville’s overtime defeat against the Minnesota Wild on March 10.

Stastney’s previous recall to Nashville was on Nov. 14, coinciding with forward Tommy Novak’s placement on injured reserve due to a hand injury. The 24-year-old defenseman made his season debut with Nashville on Nov. 18 against the Chicago Blackhawks and went on to feature in eight additional games, scoring his inaugural NHL goal on Nov. 24 versus the St. Louis Blues.

Chosen by Nashville in the fifth round (131st overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft, Spencer Stastney has achieved a career-best 20 points (five goals, 15 assists) in 44 games with the top-ranked Admirals in the Central Division this season. His impressive +27 rating leads all Milwaukee defensemen and is tied for the third-highest in the entire AHL.

Stastney boasts a total of 102 AHL games under his belt with the Milwaukee Admirals, during which he has accumulated 33 points (10 goals, 23 assists). As a rookie for the Admirals in the 2022-23 season, he contributed 13 points (5 goals, 8 assists). In the 2023 Calder Cup Playoffs, he tallied six points (1 goal, 5 assists) in 16 games, aiding the Admirals in reaching the AHL’s Western Conference Final. Additionally, he was selected to represent Milwaukee at the 2024 AHL All-Star Classic.
