MLB umpire Angel Hernandez, known for his inconsistent strike zone, showcased his characteristic inconsistency during Friday night’s game between the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros, which ended in a 12-8 victory for the visiting Rangers.

Hernandez’s officiating raised eyebrows, particularly when he called three consecutive strikes on pitches that seemed to be outside the strike zone, leaving Rangers broadcasters astonished.

Further scrutiny of Hernandez’s performance using Umpire Scorecards, a platform that evaluates umpires’ efforts, revealed a notably poor rating for his performance during the game.

MLB fans didn’t hold back in their response to Hernandez’s subpar performance, particularly noting the 12 called strikes that Umpire Scorecard identified as true balls, aligning with their expectations.

With a tenure dating back to 1991, Hernandez has become a polarizing figure among baseball fans, many of whom are eager for a change in umpiring personnel.
