The Tigers have extended their recruitment efforts from the Panthers, with winger Sunia Turuva signing a three-year contract with the Concord club starting from 2025.
“Wests Tigers is pleased to confirm the acquisition of off-contract Panthers winger Sunia Turuva on a three-year deal,” stated the Tigers.
21-year-old Turuva, who earned the NRL Rookie of the Year title last season, will join Wests Tigers after the conclusion of the 2024 season.
He will be joining fellow Fiji internationals Api Koroisau and Jahream Bula, along with his current Panthers teammate, Jarome Luai.
Turuva made a significant impact in the NRL in 2023, scoring 12 tries in 26 appearances during the Panthers’ premiership-winning season. He has continued his impressive form into 2024, adding eight tries from seven games, including a double against the Wests Tigers in Bathurst last weekend.
Wests Tigers coach Benji Marshall expressed his excitement about Turuva’s addition to the club, highlighting his versatility, energy, and positive character.
