Houshmandzadeh, who revealed Cincinnati’s third-round pick, shared his personal connection to Burton, stating, “This pick means something to me as I’ve been training this kid for a long time and now he’s going to be drafted by the Bengals.”

For Burton, the moment was surreal. “That’s honestly kind of crazy if you think about it like that,” he remarked, emphasizing the sense of gratitude he felt.

Houshmandzadeh, who played eight seasons as a wide receiver for the Bengals and led the NFL in receptions in 2007, has been instrumental in Burton’s development. Despite already boasting a formidable receiving duo in Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, the Bengals’ decision not to re-sign Tyler Boyd created an opportunity for Burton.
