An anticipated decision has led to a decline in the reputation of the Clemson program, which had recently reached the Elite Eight.

The Tigers bid farewell to first-team All-ACC center PJ Hall as he declared for the NBA Draft this week. While it was an expected move, Clemson had prepared for it.

Nevertheless, the Tigers are experiencing a setback in their momentum. CBS Sports’ college basketball rankings now feature Oregon in the top 25, replacing Clemson.

Even though the departure of Hall is significant, the presence of Viktor Lakhin and Ian Schieffelin in the frontcourt offers a promising alternative. If the Tigers decide to bolster their roster further through the transfer portal, concerns about depth would be alleviated.

Additionally, incoming freshman Dallas Thomas is expected to contribute to the team. Given the potential return of Chase Hunter, it’s understandable why Clemson may have slipped in the rankings.

Despite this, Clemson defied expectations last season under Brownell’s leadership, reaching new heights. There’s optimism that this season won’t see a considerable decline in performance.
