The Philadelphia Eagles already boast a strong offensive lineup, but adding more depth could be beneficial with training camp on the horizon.

The Eagles have had an impressive offseason, making significant moves and remaining financially flexible. Despite having one of the top-rated offseasons in the NFL, the team still has some cap space and several intriguing free agents are available.

The highlight of their offseason was undoubtedly signing former New York Giants star Saquon Barkley early in free agency. Barkley will take over as the starting running back, instantly enhancing Philadelphia’s offensive capabilities.

However, the Eagles lost some running back depth with Boston Scott and Rashaad Penny signing elsewhere. While Kenneth Gainwell remains on the roster, adding more firepower, especially given Barkley’s injury history, would be wise.

Free agent Dalvin Cook reveals which team would be 'perfect fit' | Fox News

One potential addition is former Minnesota Vikings and New York Jets running back Dalvin Cook. Ranked as the 34th-best remaining free agent by NFL Trade Rumors, Cook could provide valuable depth behind Barkley. Although he had limited opportunities with the Jets last season, he rushed for nearly 1,200 yards with the Vikings in 2022.

Cook has also faced injury issues but could form a formidable duo with Barkley if signed. Both are strong rushers and capable receivers, adding another layer to an already improved Eagles offense.

As a four-time Pro Bowler, Cook likely wouldn’t come with a high price tag. Why not give him a chance to prove he still has something left in the tank?
