Time is running out for the Minnesota Vikings to address their quarterback situation, regardless of Kirk Cousins’ status. This year presents a prime opportunity to prepare for a future without the four-time Pro Bowler, potentially through a trade.

Given that at least six quarterbacks are expected to be drafted in the first two rounds, the Vikings might need to adopt an assertive approach to secure one for themselves. A recent speculative trade scenario proposed by Bleacher Report explores this possibility.

According to Bleacher Report’s scouting department on January 29, Kirk Cousins remains a high-quality quarterback, but as he approaches 36 in August and becomes a highly sought-after signal-caller in free agency, retaining him will come at a significant cost. Considering the impending extension for Justin Jefferson, it is suggested that it might be time for the Minnesota Vikings to consider parting ways with Cousins.

In a hypothetical trade scenario proposed by Bleacher Report, the Vikings could achieve this by moving up a few spots in the draft to secure LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels. Despite being ranked 24th on the B/R board, the Vikings might need to trade up from their current position at No. 11 to secure Daniels.

In this proposed trade scenario:

Vikings receive:
– 2024 first-round pick (No. 7 overall)

Titans receive:
– 2024 first-round pick (No. 11 overall)
– 2024 second-round pick (No. 42 overall)
