Denver’s quarterback position was clarified by Broncos head coach Sean Payton while he was on radio row during Super Bowl week in Las Vegas.

In an interview with Adam Schein on Mad Dog Radio on Friday, Payton stated that a decision on quarterback Russell Wilson’s future will be made “sooner rather than later.”

According to Payton, “the free agency meetings are still going on.” These are the essential demands and desires after carefully examining the locations of these components. That comes into play when you ask the Russ question. He will find out as quickly as possible.

“It is what it is.”Russell Wilson’s status at the quarterback position for the Broncos and whether Wilson will return next season are topics of conversation between Sean Payton and Adam Schein.

Despite playing in 15 games in 2023, Wilson was benched for the final two because Payton stated he was looking for an offensive spark. The 35-year-old Wilson told reporters that the team approached him during the Broncos’ bye week and threatened to bench him for the team’s last nine games if he didn’t change his contract guarantee for 2025, after Jarrett Stidham took his place.

The team contacted Wilson’s agent in “good faith” last month, according to general manager George Paton, in an effort to come up with a novel strategy to modify the nine-time Pro Bowler’s contract. The door is open for Wilson to come back, Paton continued.
