In his storied career, Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has scored 30 goals or more in a season for the twelfth time.

In the Penguins’ 4-1 victory over the Blackhawks on the road in Chicago last night, Crosby scored twice to reach the 30-goal milestone for the season.

When questioned about reaching the 30-goal milestone once more, Crosby responded, “I’m just happy to get a win.”

Alex Ovechkin has accomplished that feat 17 times and is the only other active player to have had 12 or more seasons with 30 goals.

Crosby is presently on track to score 48 goals, which would be his second-best season total. He would only fall short of his 51-goal total from the 2009–10 campaign.

The Penguins defeated the Los Angeles Kings 4-1 last night to snap a three-game losing streak. This weekend, they will meet the Kings at home and will honor Jaromir Jagr’s career before the game.

In the history of the team, Jagr’s number will only be retired once.
