It’s the final round of the NSWRL junior representative season this weekend with three double-headers featuring Wests Tigers pathways teams.

The Wests Magpies will face off against Parramatta Eels, and Balmain Tigers will take on Newcastle Knights in the Harold Matthews and SG Ball Cup competitions, respectively. Additionally, our two junior women’s teams will compete against the Sea Eagles.

The Magpies have maintained a perfect record of seven wins from seven matches in Harold Matthews and aim to finish the regular season undefeated. Meanwhile, the black & whites must secure a victory in the SG Ball Cup to qualify for the finals.

In another crucial match, our Lisa Fiaola Cup team must defeat Manly to secure a spot in the top-6 play-offs.

Coaches have expressed their readiness for the upcoming games. Stephen Isdale mentioned the team’s anticipation for facing another top-four team, with Henare Reti returning to the team after a commendable performance. Joey Saukuru emphasized the do-or-die nature of their match and the team’s determination to put forth their best effort.

Similarly, Scott Clark stressed the importance of the upcoming clash, viewing it as a decisive moment for the team’s season. Nelle Haumono emphasized the need for consistency and patience, focusing on correcting errors and capitalizing on opportunities.

On the defensive front, Tony Bazouni highlighted the team’s defensive prowess in the previous game and their aim to end the season on a positive note. Chris Yates expressed the team’s upbeat spirit and desire to avoid finishing at the bottom of the ladder.

Leon Latulipe discussed the privilege of playing at Leichhardt Oval and the team’s focus on reducing errors and building pressure on the opposition. Aaron Payne mentioned the promotion of players to the NSW Cup and emphasized the team’s focus on effort areas.

Lastly, preparations for the game against Parramatta include a focus on consistency and facing a formidable opponent with size and strength.
