One prevalent suggestion among analysts is bolstering the trenches, particularly the offensive line. Troy Fautanu, who previously played for the Washington Huskies, has garnered attention as a potential addition to Seattle. However, opinions vary, and the Seahawks’ draft strategy remains open to exploration.

Bruce Feldman’s latest mock draft for The Athletic has the Seahawks choosing Troy Fautanu, but Michael-Shawn Dugar has a different outlook. Dugar predicts that the Seahawks will opt for a trade down, acquiring versatile defensive back Cooper DeJean from the Iowa Hawkeyes.

In Dugar’s scenario, the Seahawks would receive picks No. 20, 98, and 178 from the Steelers in exchange for pick No. 16. DeJean played cornerback at Iowa, showcasing athleticism and ball skills that could translate well to various positions in the NFL. His versatility aligns with Mike Macdonald’s vision for a defense with diverse skill sets.

With potential needs at safety and cornerback, DeJean’s addition would inject dynamism into the Seahawks’ defensive backfield. The trade would also provide Seattle with an additional top-100 pick, bolstering their draft capital.

Pro Football Focus also envisions Fautanu as a potential pick for the Seahawks, highlighting his fit at guard given Seattle’s interior offensive line needs.

While various analysts focus on Fautanu, others have different predictions, such as Amarius Mims and Laiatu Latu. The Seahawks’ ongoing roster-building process presents numerous possibilities in the draft, making it an intriguing storyline to follow under Mike Macdonald’s leadership.
